But she loves me anyway—she bought me these keen rollerskates at a yardsale for my birthday; they're great for keeping my knuckles from dragging the ground...

Hey Exie, I have a pair of pretty good knee pads (red) I'll let you have for postage.
Since I haven't been able to play ball in twenty some years I used them for things like knee protection when laying hard wood floors so there's a bit of glue and paint spatter on them but they'll do well for protecting your knees whil groveling.
Sniveling is such a low brow thing to do.
