Class Action Suit Decision

Postby ngfs66 » Fri Nov 02, 2007 9:05 pm

If you were to be a part of a class action suit that would include litigation against the chemical companies and/or the US Government, would you be willing to opt out of the suit in order to receive all your benefits from the VA retro to the date of your first claim based on your current rating, and all within 60 days?

That is a tough question Jeff. I will have to talk to Carl about this. My gut feeling is to say yes but then I am a "bird in the hand" sorta person.

Well, since I've been deferred, that wouldn't really apply to me.

I've got to say, though, the way you have it worded I don't see the downside here. Unless you mean guys that haven't gotten one of these diseases yet get screwed later.

Hmm. Moral dilemma time.

I gotta think this throught more.

It depends upon how many vets would be in the class action suit. If just a few, maybe not, If a few hundred thousand maybe so. It seems I read about the last payout from the chem companies wasn't that great when it was all divvied up.
