READ AND PLEASE ACT

Postby jrosso » Tue Dec 08, 2009 4:47 pm

Please read and act, only takes a minute!

On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a
two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would
require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new
government-run health plan. It took me less than a minute to sign up
to require our congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough!
Three cheers for Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana !
Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an
amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same
healthcare plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are
curiously exempt).

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and
sign his petition (very simple - just first, last and email). I have
immediately done just that at:
http://fleming.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=55§iontree=29,55
(copy and paste above line to browser)
Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!
If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congressmen should
have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their
families. To do otherwise is the height of hypocrisy!
Please pass this on!!

Joe,

Bill and I have contacted Congressman Fleming through his website. Since he is our Congressman, I also called his office and told his staff that Bill and I support this.

Thank you!!!

This is excellent! I hope somebody pays attention to the results, which seem overwhelmingly in favor of this. Our whole Family should take a minute to do this.

I have done it and also contacted Sensenbrenner, my Rep. However I think I read somewhere he's in Cancun this month... oh well who knows? (You see we are just tapering off today from 9"-14" of Blizzard conditions. Our patio door is completly drifted in, driving the dog nuts)

Frank, you are so welcome, it visited us a few days ago also and I really needed to give it to someone somewhere. However, -9 degrees today with the 19" of snow already here, had a heck of morning already with the house froze up with no water, car was frozen, and I am still waiting for someone to email me a cup of coffee.

Yeah, I imagine it was cooled down some, it was steaming when it left here.
So, creme and sugar? or the wanna be's?
By the way, I use Truvia, a product from the Stevia plant and there are no know issues like many of the other artificial sweeteners.

I knew you would do that, Dak. When I read Ken's post I said if I knew how to post a picture I would send him a cup of coffee but that darn Dak won't tell us how he does it.
That's a good looking cup of coffee!

It has been awhile since we have been in this bad of a cold snap, I think 90' was our last one here that lasted about 3 months, Christmas Eve to 1st of March where the temp never made it above 28 degrees and many sub zero temps, sure reminded me of my first wife.
San Francisco has been well below the freezing mark also, and they even got a little snow in Sacramento. Those Canadian cold fronts can sure make a mess of things every once in awhile, and then to make it all the way across the country even down yonder were Marcie hangs out. Everybody who hasn't been affected by this one yet, snuggle up closely....

Gentlemen;

As I sit on my front porch with a bottle of Guiness (imported, dammit!), but I digress; anyway, as I'm sittin' here in my shorts and filp-flops and enduring the 87 Degree heat with 92% humidity, I must admit that I envy your opportunity to observe (and drive in) endless vistas of snow. The thought of Christmas and sleighbells and hot buttered rum, carrying in firewood from the woodpile, plumbers candles under the hot & cold water pipes, etc. dance through my head. Why, I remember as a child in Atlanta Ga. when the entire city was paralysed by a massive 3 inch accumulation of snow, and really, really envy you.

No! I really do!

(God, I'm gonna pay for this...)
