I my self take 26 pills a day plus 4 different prescription for COPD. that equals $240.00 they ( VA ) take from my $948.00 social security check each month.

I'm worried and confused by your statement. What priority are you in in the health rating, and why is the VA taking money off your SS check. I'm in priority 6 and it lists "no-copay". I certainly don't need my SS check to start coming out short. Can you explain your situation a little?

Seeeeeeee Frank, Marcie told you it was the medications....LOL. And I thought I was on heavy doses, I take only 11 per day if I am having a good one, if it get's miserable, I stop counting.

I'm in a cat 3 and the co-pay is only $8.00 per month per perscription.I don't understand that one either. God Bless.Jim

I forgot to add this to my last post,but I think the co-pay is more based on the % of disability instead of what priority group one is in.Anyway God Bless. Jim

I don't get any disability from the VA. I'm in priority 3 it is $8.00 per prescription. 30 x $8.00 is $240.00 they steal from me. I would say more but we don't talk like that here we just think it.

Carl doesn't get any VA disability and he is paying for prescriptons at $8.00 a 30 day supply. Even on a good month, he has at least $100.00 taken from his check.

The co-pay is based on the amount of income you have. Each year we have to fill out a form. I don't know what category he is- but I know we never qualify for anything free. He doesn't qualify for milage either. So it sucks when you have to pay the gas prices we do and travel over 100 miles one way. IT is also hard to make anyone understand that they need to stack his appointments on the same day instead of several a month, including back to back days.

IF only you could get someone to really listen to you!

I take 10 pills every morning, then another 4 in the evening.

But I am one of the fortunate ones to have private health insurance (I get NOTHING from VA) and have prescription coverage. (mail order pharmacy)

my copays for those drugs runs 160 for a 90 day supply.
I dont envy you folks having to use the VA pharmacy. I could use them too, but its cheaper for me buying 90 days at my rates, than 90 days at your rates. like I said,, Im very fortunate.

Just think what we would all pay, if we werent fortunate enough to have either. (VA or private healthcare)

I'm on 14,including insulin for my pump. I was on station off and on for a year from 1974-1975 aboard the Enterprise. Additionally, I am the only person on both sides of my family that has diabetes.

Oh, supplies for my insulin pump, around $125.00 per month for my 20 % copay. But I am being generously compensated by V.A. for hypertension at $123.00 per month, which by the way is deducted from my pension. Just more anecdotal information...

I take 8 in the morning (?) and six in the even and one four times a days!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lets see now, thats 8+6=14+1 more flour times aday equals 18. right????? s shirereef

In spite of my image on this board I'm not too bad. 9 pills in the morning, 1 at mid day, 7 in the evening and insulin shots 2 x's a day.
