Postby Marcella » Wed Feb 10, 2010 2:49 pm

Well, as you all know I spend some time in FL...so this roadtrip we are heading to Port Richey and meeting up with our Illustrious SusieQ tomorrow. Then heading to Ocala and home on Fri-- if it doesn't snow us in.

Still in FL, avoiding the snow... Today got to meet Susie and Ernie...great folks and such a treat to visit with them. We had a great talk and no we didnt spend all our time talking about BWN we found time to talk about cars, kids and grandkids in between. Ya'll don't know how great it is to meet up with those who we "talk" with all the time. So enjoyed the time with her and wish it could have been longer. Heading back to AL tomorrow...snow or no snow.

It was great meeting Marcie and Carl. She is correct , putting faces to the names is such a good thing. Let us hope we can all meet in D.C. for the signing of the bill once we get it passed.

Dave, I lied!
We are staying in FL another day. 8) At least its only raining here. They are expecting 3-5 inches of snow at home..talked with our Aunt and she said its royally snowing there! SO are you shoveling snow yet up in the Northern part? LA (lower AL for those who don't know) getting that much snow is unusual. Let me hear how you are doing.

JOE, what about Montgomery area?

Marcie,
The way the projections were as of 10:00 last night was that it was all going to pass south of us and hit B'ham the worst. They were going to get 4 to 5 inches and 2 to 3 where you live. I wouldn't want to be in Birmingham with Simi's running off the elevated portions of the poorly designed Interstate. There is usually major crashes at Malfunction Junction where I-59 and I-65 come together. They have closed schools all over the central and south part of the state. I'd stay doun in Florida until the stuff melts because this may not be the worst of it.

At 11:45 am my friend sent pictures of the snow...5 inches and still coming. Hope by tomorrow it clears and begins to melt. Our county roads are closed and all schools. SO it will be a mess to get home. Am enjoying the rain here......I think.

I just heard that they have 4-5 inches in Monroeville and still coming down; about the same in Andalusia. Gov. Rliley has closed all State offices. 3/4 of the state is shut down. I wonder if the paper shredders  in Montgomery are closed??

We got home about 7:00 pm last night and there was still lots of snow on the ground. Even this morning it was still pretty in spots...but this afternoon most of it is gone. Weather states we should get some more this pm/early am. Going to be cold here all week. Have a trip to heart dr in Enterprise in early am...hope roads aren't icy. Just put a gallon bag of snow in the freezer. Jacob is so upset, he says he will never see snow. "It never snows in Fl". Poor boy. Carl thought he was smart today--shoved a handful of snow down my top.....he does go to sleep...so must plan carefully my revenge!

Snow down the Britches with a Wedgie does a pretty good chill job, just food for thought....but sounds like you better hurry if the snow is melting so quickly. If you need a bit more Marcie, let me know, we got plenty sitting up on the mountain. We have had a pretty fair winter with the snow this year beings we have been in quite a drought for the past 8 years or so. I am sure we got a little we could spare for you.
