VHA Directive 2009-047 for SHAD Veterans

Postby jrosso » Thu Dec 03, 2009 8:41 am

The Veterans Health Administration has released a Directive [2009-047] that extends healthcare to 6000+ Veterans who paticipated in the 112/SHAD testing of the 1960's. SHAD[Shipboard Hazard and Defense] involved the testing of several ships with chemical and biological elements to see how well the ships could keep these agents out of the skin of ship. All Shad veterans now have the benefit of Group 6 care at the VA. The directive is dated Sept. 30, 2009 and can be accessed through google by inserting 'VHA Directive 2009-047'. Joe Rosso
