Reason, not saying any should not, but we here do not celebrate tomorrow. I think the Native Americans discovered Colombus, not the other way around. Anyway, just kidding, kinda, and something to think about.

What part of Oklahoma are you from? I was born and lived most of my life in Denison, TX. I have an uncle in Lawton and a brother who works at Comanche Casino somewhere in Oklahoma across the border from Wichita Falls,TX.
For what is worth. I would give anything to have your healthcare through the Indian Nation. My private insurance premiums are so darn high. My husband goes to the VA. The rumor is in my family that we have ancestors who are Indian. Could be, I don't know. My family name is so common on the rolls. I will never find out.
Hope you have a good day,
Cindy

No relatives in Denison.
I left Durant in 1969 and lived in Houston 1976-1990 and 1994-2005 when I retired and moved "up North" to Denton in the DFW area. Do you recall the old Naval Reserve station about half way between Denison and Sherman on the east side of U.S. 75? If I recall correctly it was near the TV station. It has been gone for years.

My Mothers side of the family are all from Canton, Texas, that is where I finished high school after my Dad passed away. I also have more kin there than you can count.

I've been to Atoka. We used to go to a park called Devil's Den. Can't remember for sure, but I was thinking it was around Tishomingo.
Cindy
Oh my, I thought I was probably the only person left who remembers Devil's Den. I went there as a kid. I think it was Pennington Creek that ran through Devil's Den. And it was near Tishimingo. I haven't heard anyone mention that place in over 40 years.
I recall an ice cream store in downtown Denison that we used to visit. Don't recall that name of the store but it seems it was a person's name.
