Wives and Care Givers

Postby johnr » Fri Mar 20, 2009 11:31 am

In the early days of our Association, we had a space on the registration application to list the Wife or Significant Other. Over some reiterations of that form, that information was excluded.

BWNVVA has just made available the Agent Orange Care Giver Recognition Pin in the Ship's Store. All wives currently on record as being members will receive one Care Giver Recognition Pin at no charge.

For those of you who have not signed up your wife/other as a member, we will be accepting these new members between now and next Friday, March 27. If you have a Care Giver that you would like to receive a pin, please submit an application for them from the sign-up page . This offer of one pin gratis is ONLY extended to individuals who were officially enrolled (by submission of the Application) on March 12, 2009. All others are cordially invited to join BWNVVA as active members at any time, but will not be included in this offer.

The pins are now available in the Ship's Store in the event you would like to purchase any in addition to the one you would be eligible for through Membership records. Also, please remember that any donations to help us pull this off are thankfully appreciated. We would also appreciate you "spreading the word" about this unique tribute to recognize the Care Givers for Agent Orange victims.

Hey JR,
Are you a Scorpio? Just kidding, but it's odd that I have been thinking about wive's & caregivers since I started home from the Dr's this afternoon. I was going to post this note to Kudo's but possibly it should go here & there also.
I think ALL of the women, who stand with the male members of BWN, need to be given a Hip-Hip-Ho ray for all the support they give us in our daily lives. I was going to say those who stand behind us, but I think in most cases they stand beside us & often lead us. Many of us would have gotten discouraged & given up if it hadn't been for the women who encourage us to go on. To paraphrase my favorite poem," Footprints in the Sand ", I think often when we only see one set of footprints it is because our Wives & Caregivers are carrying us. There are times when we need to stop & reflect on how much these people give to us, sacrifice for us and hurt with us. They have an awesome responsibility and they give of themselves without question. IF I hadn't been so " male ", and would have listened to my wife back in 2004 & 2005, I would have been approved, before the boots on ground and all the other garbage the VA is throwing our way . If that would have been the case, I would have missed being associated with this group & all the good people here. We have a Great Group of Women, on this site, who give selflessly of themselves, to not only help their Mate but all of us. I give a special Thanks to all of these Ladies.
JR I commend you and everyone, involved with this Recognition Pin, for your Caring. Again " Thanks To All " and if a 21 gun salute is appropriate you have it from me.

God Bless !!
