How to Contact the White House

Postby johnr » Wed Jan 28, 2009 1:22 pm

I received this by email today... it looks like good information to put into action:

I have received how to e-mail the white house so other veterans can write Mr. Obama and the new secretary of the VA about the ruling on the Hass case.
You might already know this but in case you don’t the address is [email protected]. I sent a e-mail yesterday to Mr. Obama on this matter.
Don’t know if I will hear anything on this but if I do I will send it you. This phone number 202 456-1414 will get you a real person to talk on information
on how to get in touch with cabinet members.

Thanks JR,

Now all we need is a great email campaign to let him know we are in the forgotten class of citizens.

Will work on getting something done and email him too.

I just sent the following.... word for word.....

Dear President Obama:

My name is Gordon Mxxxxx and I am a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. The reason I am writing is because the Australian Government is compensating and providing medical care to its naval veterans of the Vietnam War for effects of exposure to Agent Orange. The Australian Government has done extensive research on dioxin contamination. The Royal Australian Navy served in the same waters at the same time as I did.

I am also disabled by disease which is considered to be the effects of Agent Orange exposure as defined by the Department of Veteran Affairs. Even though I have applied for benefits, the Department of Veteran Affairs continues to make every effort to deny benefits to all U.S. Navy veterans who served in the same water as the Australian Navy. The Department of Veteran Affairs has been remiss in performing or establishing research on dioxin effects on U.S. Navy veterans. I am asking for your assistance in removing this roadblock to my rightful benefits.

Should you require any additional information or have any questions, you may contact me at:

Gordon Mxxxxxx

Phone - (xxx) xxx-xxxx

Respectfully,
Gordon Mxxxxx

GordyM,
That's a beauty of a letter... good punch. I need to get you helping out on some fact sheets and brochures. Seriously.

I agree, very good letter that I also sent out. I used, for the subject line, "Blue Water Navy and Agent Orange". Don't know if that's gonna do any good.
