Monday was the 23rd anniversary of the infamous Iraqi missile attack on the USS Stark. The Florida Times Union writes:

The Mayport-based guided-missile frigate was one of several peacekeeping forces attacked in support of the Reagan administration’s policy to keep the shipping lanes open.

In total, 37 sailors died when the ship was attacked in the Arabian Gulf.
