Papaw's EASY Cherry Cobbler

Postby Papaw » Fri Sep 05, 2008 6:59 am

My Aunt gave me this recipe several years ago, and is another favorite around the Papaw Household. Its simple, and takes about 5-8 mninutes to get it into the oven (you will wait longer for the over to get to temp, than to make this) It isnt the same "cobbler" in the sense of the word most are use to.

Papaw's Easy Cherry Cobbler

One large can of cherries
One regular size can of cherries (I like lots of cherries)
one stick of melted butter
One cup of sugar
One cup of self-rising flour
About one cup of milk
One egg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Pour cherries into a 9X13 non stick pan
Mix sugar and flour
Whisk milk, melted butter, and egg together good, then add to sugar/flour mixture.
Pour onto cherries trying to stay away from the edges, if you can. Maybe taking a wooden spoon, and stirring around a bit, to mix the cherries into the breading
Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour, or until cobbler is golden brown on top. Let sit for a few minutes, but eat it warm, with Ice Cream.
Gotta run now,, have to go out and catch my supper.
